How tight should I fasten the safety harness system?
To fasten the harness correctly is key to restrain the child well in the car seat. You need to pull the harness adjuster strap until the harness is close the the child's body. If the harness is correctly tight, you should be able to pass only 1 finger between your child's body and the harness strap. The tighther the harness is, the better your child will be restrained and the safer he/she is in case of an accident.
How can I make it easier to place my child in the Maxi-Cosi Mobi XP and and take him out?
The Mobi XP has convenient belt hooks that keep harness and buckle pad conveniently out of the way to easy get the child in and out.
How do I wash the textile cover of the Mobi XP car seat?
Remove the Maxi-Cosi Mobi XP from the car before carrying out any of the following. The seat may be cleaned with lukewarm water and a gentle soap. Do not use abrasive detergents. The cover and the belt pads must be washed by hand at a maximum temperature of 30oC. Do not use a dryer. Also see washing instructions on the label sewed to the Mobi XP cover. The belt buckle may be cleaned with warm water. Do not lubricate.
How can I adjust the safety harness of the Mobi XP?
The correct belt height of the shoulder belts is attained when the belt disappears into the shell slightly above the shoulder of the child. Make sure that the shoulder belts fit properly over the shoulders of the child.
Please consult the manual for a visualization of these steps: Loosen the shoulder belts by pressing the release button and pulling the shoulder belts towards you as far as possible. Lift up the flap on the cover by the shoulder belt slots. To make the adjustment easier, pull the shoulder belts on top of the belt pad forward into a loop, loosening them. Next, push the loop back through the opening. Slide the shoulder belt and the belt pad strap through the slot together into the next position. Make sure that the shoulder belt is positioned on top of the belt pad strap in the new position. Always do this on both sides. Pull the shoulder belts tight by pulling on the belts under the belt pads. Place the flap back in position and thread the belt pads through the correct slots in the flap and secure them with the Velcro. Check whether you are able to use the belts and ensure they are not twisted.
Die Gurte haben nicht die gleiche Länge. Wie kommt das?
Unterschiedlich lange Gurte können durch eine fehlerhafte Führung des Hosenträger-Gurtsystems verursacht werden. Kontrolliere an der Rückseite des Autositzes, dass die Gurte nicht verdreht sind und sich der Anzuggurt (der unten in der Schale nach vorne verläuft) in der Mitte des Systems befindet. Kontrolliere auch, ob der Gurt frei durch die Schulteröffnungen hin- und herbewegt werden kann. Für eine gute Funktion muss das Gurtschloss ganz nach vorne geklappt sein. Dieses Gurtschloss wirkt als eine Art „Gurtentspanner“. Sollte das Problem weiter bestehen, nutze unser Kontaktformular.
Was soll ich tun, wenn mein Kind das Schloss seines Hosenträgergurtes öffnet?
In diesem Fall empfehlen wir – wie übrigens alle internationalen Sicherheitsexperten – dass Ihr umgehend an einer sicheren Stelle anhaltet, das Gurtschloss wieder schließt und Deinem Kind erklärst, warum es das nicht tun soll.
Es ist immer möglich, dass ein einfallsreiches, geschicktes oder starkes Kind das Schloss öffnet. Wenn die Kraftanstrengung, die zum Öffnen des Schlosses benötigt wird, entscheidend erhöht würde, damit ein Kind dieses nicht mehr schafft, würde das den gesetzlichen Sicherheitsvorgaben widersprechen.
Die Position des Schlosses, die Farbe des Knopfes und die zum Öffnen nötige Kraft sind in europäischen Standards festgelegt. Im Falle eines Unfalls müssen Helfer auch ohne Kenntnis des Kinderautositzes sofort erkennen, wie sie das Kind aus seinem Sitz befreien können.
